PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers added some depth to the secondary Wednesday afternoon signing safety Makari Paige to a one-year contract.
He’s a big safety, 6’4”, 208 pounds and spent last season on the Giants practice squad after 53 games at the University of Michigan—3 interceptions (one against Ohio State), 135 tackles, 11 passes defensed and was named captain his final season in 2024.
Paige started at nickel for the national championship game against Washington in 2023, moving between that position and safety. He had six tackles as a safety against Alabama in the CFP Semifinal.
The Michigan native has yet to play in an NFL game.
