PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – It’s not a surprise Mike McCarthy is expected to keep quarterbacks coach Tom Arth, he and linebackers coach Scott McCurley have previously worked with McCarthy. The Post-Gazette also reporting McCurley and secondary coach Gerald Alexander will be retained.

Arth was the third player in McCarthy’s first quarterbacks room. It was Arth, Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers admitted he has a strong relationship with him and said he has ‘the prettiest drop I’ve ever seen’.

Along with being in a QB room with Favre and Rodgers, he came to Green Bay after serving as a back-up to Peyton Manning with the Colts for three years (2003-05). Tony Dungy was the head coach at the time. He also worked with Justin Herbert and the Chargers as a ‘passing game specialist’.

The 44-year-old Arth was a three-time college head coach—his alma mater John Carroll (2013-16), Tennessee-Chattanooga (2017-18), Akron (2019-21).
