PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers stay within the division for safety help.

A second-round pick by the Chiefs out of Virginia in 2019, Juan Thornhill signs a one-year deal with the Steelers according to the NFL Network. Thornhill has started 22 games the last two seasons with the Browns with 103 tackles (72 solo) with four passes defensed before being released last month. In 2023, he played in 92 percent of the defensive snaps, last year dipped to 57%.

Thornhill was part of the NFL All-Rookie Team after three interceptions and 58 tackles (42 solo) with the Chiefs in 2019. He would play three more seasons with Kansas City finishing with eight interceptions, but hasn’t had a pick since 2022.

Last year, Thornhill was ranked as the 40th best safety by Pro Football Focus, ahead of Minkah Fitzpatrick (42) with DeShon Elliott ranked 27th.
