PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Minutes after saying he would be open to signing any or all of their quarterbacks from 2024, the Steelers signed Miami back-up Skylar Thompson, per his agent, to what would be a Reserve/Futures contract.
The 27-year-old was the Dolphins seventh round pick 2022 and has started three games for them in two seasons. This year he started at Seattle going 13-19 for 107 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in a 24-3 Dolphins loss. He spent most of the year bouncing between the active roster and practice squad.
Over his career, a 1-2 record in three starts, while appearing in 10 games. The 6’2” right-hander has a 58.7% completion, 721 yards, one TD, three interceptions and four fumbles. He ran 15 times for 25 yards and no scores and was sacked 12 times.
