Steelers sign one of Arthur Smith’s former WRs

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – As much as the quarterback room is a lonely place, the receivers room isn’t that much deeper.
So. the Steelers went out and added a player from the Rams.

2020 Rams second-round pick Van Jefferson joins the Steelers after four seasons, mostly in Los Angeles. Jefferson played 49 games (30 starts) with LA with 101 receptions, 1,499 yards, 14.8 yards per reception, 30.6 yards per game, 56.4 catch percentage and 10 touchdowns.

Jefferson played for new Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith for 12 games in 2023, starting five. Smith traded for Jefferson and he finished with 12 receptions for 101 yards on 28 targets.

He won a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021 when he started all 17 games, playing 80 percent of the snaps finishing with a career-high 50 receptions, 802 yards, 32 catches for first down and six touchdowns.

Steelers are also considering signing former Clairton and Pitt star and former Bengals receiver Tyler Boyd.
