According to multiple reports, it appears the Steelers have found their replacement for Jamir Jones, who was released earlier this week.
According to multiple sources, including NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Steelers are signing former third-round pick Tanner Muse.
Pelissero calls Muse a “standout special teamer.” He is also a linebacker.
He was the 100th overall pick in the 2020 draft by the Raiders out of Clemson.
He was placed on injured reserve by the Raiders in September 2020 and had season-ending surgery in November that year.
After being waived by the Raiders at the beginning of the 2021 season, he was signed by the Seattle Seahawks.
The 26-year-old played in six games in 2021 and all 17 last year, starting in one.
He had 20 total tackles and one pass defended.
