Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt was robbed of the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award on Thursday night, and he knows it.

Watt skipped the NFL Awards on Thursday night and send at message out on social media that said, “Nothing I’m not used to.”

Former Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell summed it up best.

Garrett is a great player, but a simple look at the stats show Watt was superior to Garrett.

With Garrett getting the award, it diminishes the prestige of award.

Why? Because you’re just giving the award to a really good player who’s never been truly the best in the league but the voters just wanted to give him one eventually, so why not this year?

In the end, Watt would trade his DPOY award for a Lombardi in a heartbeat, but if you’re going to have individual awards, at least give them to the person that deserves it.

Some are also complaining about Watt not attending the awards. There is a debate he should’ve been there for Cam Heyward, who won the Walter Payton Man of the Year award, but if he knew he was being cheated out of a second DPOY, why go?

Fans in Cleveland are enjoying themselves though. Check out this X (tweet).
