Updated roster, Pitt basketball gets another Iowa State transfer

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pitt continues to rebuild its roster, so a quick check of where they sit on the day of the national championship.

Monday the Panthers added a second player from Iowa State, 6’5”, 200-pound guard Nojus Indrusaitis. He was the seventh highest-ranked signee in Iowa State history (understanding the rating system only started a couple decades ago). He was a consensus top 100 recruit after being named the New Hampshire Gatorade Player of the Year playing at Brewster Academy. He is originally from Chicago.

He has been a member of the Lithuanian U18 FIBA team and won a gold medal at the 2022 FIBA U16 European Championship as he was named to the all-tournament team. Last year he played in 15 games with the nationally ranked Cyclones with 31 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Scholarship players returning from last year

·     Freshman 6’3” guard Brandin Cummings-one of only a handful of Pitt freshmen to score 30 points in a game. Cummings started four of 31 games averaging 6.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, 43% FG, 38% 3, 82% FT and 26 total assists

·      Junior 6’10” forward Cameron Corhen-started all 32 games averaging 11 points, 5.2 rebounds a game with 29 assists, 23 blocks and 22 steals.

·      Freshman 6’10” forward Amdy Ndiaye-had two points and six rebounds in eight games

·      Redshirt-freshman, 6’10” forward Papa Amadou Kante-played in 22 games with 47 points, 25 rebounds, seven blocks, six steals, shot 55% FG, 63% FT
