Is Alejandro Villanueva signing with the Steelers? Whether his house is sold or not could give us a hint.

Fan Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette of The Athletic tells the Fan Morning Show that a person who “has reason to know” says that Villanueva reportedly had his house up for sale.

“The Steelers went to him and said, ’eh, not so fast there’ and pulled the for sale sign down, again I just heard that from one person who has reason to know that.”

But Fan Morning Show co-host Colin Dunlap says he talked to one of Villanueva’s neighbors who tells him that the house is under agreement, but hasn’t been closed on yet.

Villanueva could be still waiting for a big pay day, but at 32-years-old Fan NFL Insider John Clayton says time is running out.

“Villanueva anticipating that he should get big dollars is waiting but if you’re any player in your 30s, you better not wait, it gets worse,” NFL insider John Clayton told the PM Team last week.

While Villanueva struggled with run blocking last season, Clayton says he still has a good reputation around the league.

Clayton says Villanueva is one of the best remaining free agents on the market and the Steelers are probably trying to work out a way to bring him back but other teams could be in the mix.

Fanduel has the New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs as the top landing spots for “Big Al.”

Villanueva is durable. He hasn't missed a game in the past five seasons.
