We've seen enough. It's time for offensive coordinator Matt Canada to go.
It isn't anything new that you haven't heard since the beginning of the season but Sunday's 10-point performance from the Steelers was just another example of the bland offensive scheme Canada designed.
Yes, quarterback Kenny Pickett had three interceptions, making some bad decisions and the defense had three or four interceptions that were dropped, but after a bad opening drive, the defense only allowed 16 points. That should be enough to win the game.
But Canada seems to lack the knowledge of knowing what play to call in certain situations and it appears his playbook isn't very big.
Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky called out Canada's play-calling on Monday morning, saying, "There's no way you can convince me the Steelers run more than 10 plays a game…"
The Fan's Andrew Fillipponi says he spoke to a former Steelers quarterback who was also critical of the offense.
Once again Steelers players where critical, even though Chase Claypool tried to deflect blame from Canada.
"We need more go balls," said Claypool. "Like, damn. Not enough go balls. We've got playmakers. I haven't had a go ball all year. George needs more, Tae needs more. I'm not saying that's on the play calling. I'm just saying we need to find a way to scheme it up."
It's not all on play calling, but it's pretty close.
Fan Morning Show co-host Colin Dunlap said Monday morning that the Steelers are currently "are a terribly run organization."
"In this morning after you were embarrassed, after your offense scored 10 points, if you don't fire Matt Canada today, you are furthering the embarrassment," said Dunlap.
Dunlap adds owner Art Rooney II needs to fire Canada or he's "deaf and blind to all of this."
Steelers average 15.3 points a game, the second worst in the NFL and they're fourth worst in yards per game.
Instead of moving down the field, the Canada offense continues to dink and dunk and make throws close to the line of scrimmage that result in little to no gain.
Running the ball on first down, followed but a shuffle pass or screen isn't going to score you many points.
