PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The new Steelers receiver is a one-thousand-yard guy, but not in one season, rather over the span of four years.

According to several reports, Eagles Quez Watkins agreed to a one-year deal. In four seasons with the Eagles, Watkins started 25 of 47 games with 98 receptions for 1,249 yards. He had six touchdowns (three in 2022), 1,249 yards (647 yards in 2021) and a career catch percentage of 66.7. He had his fewest number of career catches on third down along with his lowest catch percentage (62.8%).

Philly selected the 6’, 193-pound Watkins in the sixth round in 2020 out of Southern Miss, where he ran a 4.35, 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. Watkins was the 118th ranked receiver in the NFL last year according to Pro Football Focus. He was ranked higher than JuJu Smith-Schuster, DJ Chark and Jahan Dotson among others. He played 64% of his snaps in the slot in 2023 after being their over 75% of the time the previous season.

Watkins joins Van Jefferson, who was ranked 185th by PFF last year, as free-agent receiver signings.
