It's been a very Merry Knock Knock It's Christmas on K-Earth 101!
After all the nominations we received, and choosing a deserving family, and then collecting all the wonderful and generous donations from all of YOU, the listeners of K-Earth 101... We gave the Montanez family a full fledged holly jolly holiday!
After knocking on Leo's door and having Santa himself wake up the kiddos, Christian and Katie, we presented them with all of the loving cards, donations, and presents that were sent in by all of you.
When it was all gathered up, we were able to present each of the kids with a box of their FAVORITE baseball team's gear. Thank you to the Angels for donating so many goodies for Katie, and thank you to Chris, the owner of Defense Tax Partners for donating a box of Dodgers collectibles from his own collection to Christian!
We also want to thank Defense Tax Partners for donating a Lifetime of Tax preparations to the family, and the Angels for also donating 4 tickets to a future game! Phoong Law for donating a $2000 check to go towards the maintenance of Leo's car. Freedom Gold U.S.A. for donating $2,000 in Silver Coins! Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions for donating $500 in gift cards. L.A. Kings Hockey for donating 4 tickets to a future game with parking and autographed merch for the whole family!
We would also like to give a huge shout-out to Lynn Reiger, Leo's sister who lovingly wrote in to nominate her brother. Thank you for feeling compelled to share his story; allowing us to help him and his family this Christmas!
Most of all, what brings tears to our eyes here at K-Earth 101, is the fact that we are able to get together as a community of people and all chip in just a little bit in order to make a HUGE difference in someone's life. And all of YOU came together and donated HUNDREDS of dollars, beautifully written cards, and spent time listening, in order to help Leo and his family have a brighter and merrier Christmas.
The final count came out to almost $15,000 in cash, checks, and donations, and we can't thank you enough!
Leo, Christian, and Katie's 2023 Christmas will be one they won't forget and hopefully will help them continue to heal while their mom Tina, is watching over them.
