AZUSA, Calif. (KNX) – Two of the five Los Angeles County deputies involved in Saturday’s helicopter crash in the San Gabriel Mountains were released from the hospital Sunday night.
An L.A. County Sheriff's deputy confirmed the release to KTLA.
The names of those deputies are unknown at this time.
On Saturday, a rescue helicopter carrying five deputies and a UCLA doctor was responding to a car accident when it the helicopter crashed.
Sheriff Alex Villanueva said during a press conference that the helicopter had "malfunctioned", but the exact cause of the crash is uknown.
None of the injuries suffered by those onboard were life-threatening; however, one deputy was “critically injured” and one of the pilots had broken bones, according to Deputy Alejanda Parra.
National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
