With the Rose Parade just days away, float building is happening at a frantic pace in Pasadena.

KNX News’ Craig Fiegener spoke with builders and decorators about their floats and themes, including Scott, who was working on the Boys and Girls Club float.

The message for that float – kindness is free.

“So ‘kindness is free is unique to our Boys and Girls Club of the West San Gabriel Valley in East Side and what we're hoping to do or accomplish with this float is to have everyone take the kindness pledge, learn more about us, and to be kind to each other,” he said.

Randy with the Louisiana float told Fiegener the float will have plenty of entertainment while promoting tourism.

“The first thing they're gonna see is the huge 55 foot green alligator that's gonna be animated and moving down the street,” he said. “Second thing is there's going to be live entertainment on the float. There's going to be one of the mid-parade performances, so it's gonna have country music, and he's going to be singing ‘Louisiana Saturday Night.’”

The Rose Parade will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 1 at 8 a.m.
