The Toyota RAV4 drove through the customer waiting area of the dealership in the service building.

A man named Jose told KNX News' Pete Demetrious he was within feet of being hit.

"The door was 10 feet away," he said.

A woman "who was in or near the enclosed driveway" was trapped under the car before bystanders quickly freed her. Fire officials said an off-duty nurse performed CPR on the woman.

The woman was taken to the hospital where police said she died.

Two male employees were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. One of them had a head wound, LAFD said.

The driver declined ambulance transportation and remained at the scene.

Cal-OSHA may be called to investigate.
