If you plan to use the 405 Freeway on the Westside this weekend, expect some delays.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, the I-405 will be reduced to three lanes in each direction from Wilshire to Sunset Blvd., according to Caltrans District 7. This will go on until 5 a.m. on Sept. 22.
It’s part of a $143 million repaving project that will last well into next year.
Lauren Walike, a spokesperson for Caltrans, spoke with KNX News’ Pete Demetriou about what drivers can expect.

“For northbound Interstate 405, it's going to be reduced to three lanes, and that is going to be between Santa Monica Boulevard to just north of Sunset Boulevard,” she said. “Looking at the ramp closures, Santa Monica Boulevard on-ramp will be closed.”
The southbound side, she said, will be reduced to three just north of Sunset Boulevard to Wilshire Boulevard.
“Sunset Boulevard, kind of that Church Lane on and off ramp, will be closed,” she said.
