The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a nine-year-old girl.

Melodee Buzzard hasn't been seen in at least a year, according to the deputies.

The search for her started Tuesday when a school official reported her "prolonged absence.” Deputies then went to the girl's home in the 500 block of Mars Ave.

"We contact Mom, and Mom can't tell us where the kid is," Raquel Zick, spokesperson for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, told KNX News.
