An abandoned high-rise building in downtown Los Angeles is not only attracting taggers but also base jumpers.

Video shared by NBC 4 showed someone jumping off the Oceanwide Plaza and then paragliding. This issue comes as the Los Angeles Police Department continues to arrest people at the construction site.

Chief Michel Moore with the LAPD wrote on X that officers would “remain at the site as the City mobilizes resources to remove the graffiti and fortify the location.”

L.A. Councilmembers Monica Rodriguez and Kevin de León condemned the base jumpers.

“This is a tragic message for a world-class city like Los Angeles to watch this level of vandalism occur at such a visible location in the heart of downtown Los Angeles,” Rodriguez said. “People are angry and frustrated and it's an embarrassment.”

De León said it’s not worth the 15 minutes of fame.

“I get all the adrenaline,” he said. “I get all the testosterone. I get this driven for likes and sponsorships and 15 minutes of that fame, but it's not worth risking your life.”

On Feb. 9, city council passed a motion stating the building must be cleaned by the end of the day on Feb.
17 and that the property owners must secure the buildings to prevent people from climbing up the building.
