LOS ANGELES (KNX) - Police are searching for a group of men on bicycles who committed a string of armed robberies in the Panorama City area Monday morning.
According to LAPD Detective Sherri Roberts, the crime spree started just after 5 a.m. Monday. Within 45 minutes, the band of three to four suspects robbed five people at gunpoint and sped off before they could be caught.
“They approached our hard-working community members on their way to work, and one held a gun, and the other one basically robbed them of their property,” Roberts told KNX News.
Roberts said one of the victims was pistol-whipped before being robbed.
Since the crimes were committed within a defined area, Roberts said they’re hoping surveillance video will be the key to identifying and capturing the suspects.
