Bryan Ceja was identified as the victim by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office.

The crash was first reported to the California Highway Patrol at 7:53 p.m. Sunday on the westbound Foothill Freeway just east of the Sunland Boulevard off-ramp.

A 40-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man were taken to hospitals by paramedics in "at least" serious condition, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.

Two patients were taken to hospitals with injuries not believed life-threatening and one patient declined to be taken to a hospital.

Witnesses told the CHP a black SUV or pickup truck was moving in and out of lanes at a high rate of speed before the crash. Two of the vehicles involved in the crash rolled over. The crash itself blocked all lanes.

The CHP issued a SigAlert at 8:14 p.m., officially shutting down all lanes. The number 1 lane was reopened at about 10 p.m. All remaining lanes were reopened at about 12:50 a.m. Monday.
