Authorities sought the public's assistance Monday in locating a 55-year-old man suspected of murder in Compton.

Homicide detectives responded to the 100 block of Poinsettia Avenue on May 9 following the death of a victim, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators identified the suspect as Darney Harris, who they said frequents Buena Park, downtown Los Angeles and Compton.

Harris was described as a 5-feet-11-inch-tall man weighing 250 pounds with a bald head and brown eyes. It was unclear what he was wearing when he was last seen.
