During this year's big game commercials, rocker Dave Grohl was tapped to offer up some words of thanks to our friends in the Great White North.

In Canadian whiskey company Crown Royal's advertisement that ran during Super Bowl LVII, Grohl, seated at a recording desk with what looks like a PB&J sandwich and a glass of spirits, leans back contentedly in his chair and states, "Today, let's thank Canada."

"Thank you for legends in music," he continues as the shot cuts to someone flipping through bins in a record store, pulling out albums from Joni Mitchell, Oscar Peterson, and Celine Dion. "...And heroes of comedy," he adds as a television screen shows the smiling likenesses of Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short, and Seth Rogen. He also thanks Canada "for this heartthrob," as a movie poster of actor Michael Cera flashes.

Cutting back to Grohl in the studio, he lists off a few more thank you's, "for peanut butter" (it was a PB&J sandwich!), "the paint roller, and poutine," explaining the Canadian delicacy for those not in the know. "Thank you for creating the replay, the walkie, and the battery," he says with an astonished look. Dave also lists, "the egg carton, the ironing board, the electric wheelchair, Hawaiian pizza, instant potatoes, Canola oil, trash bags," and while lifting a Whoopie Cushion and giving it a squeeze, "thank you for this... Pthhhhhhtht!" Finally, Dave thanks Canada for the sports of Hockey (duh), Basketball (really?), and Football (wait, WHAT?!). As the guitar screech and neck snap of his producer would let on, that last one may be a bit of a stretch. Nevertheless, Grohl challenges the viewer, "Yeah. Look it up!"
