Lanes reopened on 101 Freeway after deadly crash

The southbound lanes on the 101 Freeway in the Silver Lake area reopened hours after a pedestrian was hit and killed, forcing closures in the area.

Officers responded to to the area of Vermont Avenue and the southbound Hollywood (101) Freeway about 4:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP said the person died at the scene.

Traffic was diverted off Vermont Avenue.

At 10:44 a.m., the lanes reopened.
