A dog that broke out of a kennel at an Arizona pet rescue was caught on camera trying to set all of his friends free before a police officer arrived and put an end to his escape plan.
The incident happened overnight at the Lost Our Home Pet Rescue facility in Tempe, where one of the dogs – King – busted out of his kennel.
"The alarm went off. It was like, you know, 12 o'clock, 1 o'clock in the morning and I immediately looked to see what was going on and couldn't find anything happening -- and then I saw the mess, and I was like, 'Oh my God,'" Jodi Polanski, founder of Lost Our Home Pet Rescue founder, told KSAZ-TV.
The mess had been made by King, who managed to open a closed door after he failed to open his friends' cages. After making his way into the office, King decided he wanted a snack and helped himself to water and food that was left on top of a cabinet.
Because King had set off several alarms, an officer from the Tempe Police Department showed up to investigate. He managed to get King back into his cage – and he even cleaned up the dog's mess.
"I had no idea the officer was going to clean up," Polanski said. "I saw it, and I was just like, 'Wow, amazing man that he did that.'"
The rescue posted surveillance video of King's caper on its Facebook page.
