The 17-year-old driver of a Lamborghini SUV that crashed that left a 32-year-old woman dead has pleaded guilty Friday. The teen has not been identified and entered his plea in juvenile court.

The family of a woman who was killed claims the process of investigating the accident was delayed because of the high profile of the teen’s family.

The teen driver is the son of e-commerce developer James Kuhri. He was driving a black Lamborghini Urus SUV on February 17, when he rear-ended 3Monique Muñoz in the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Overland Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. She was on her way home from work, her family says.

According to City News Service, Los Angeles Police Department Capt. Brian Wendling told the Los Angeles Times the Lamborghini driver's arrest was only delayed by the fact that he had to be hospitalized for injuries sustained in the crash.

"Because this case involves juvenile proceedings, we are legally barred from disclosing any further information at this time," Ricardo Santiago, a public information officer with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said.

Muñoz's Lexus was split in half by the force of the hit and she died at the scene.

The teen driver was taken to the hospital for injuries but wasn’t arrested until nearly 10 days later on February 23.

Kuhri, who according to Forbes, is a multimillionaire, who owns several real estate firms, e-commerce businesses and manufacturing companies, posted an apology on behalf of his son on his Instagram page. It read in part: “I am aware that the time it has taken me to communicate this has caused rather pain for everyone affected. Knowing that this will never do justice for the family of Monique Munoz, I want to apologize to the Munoz family for the tragic loss of their daughter. There are no words I can say to alleviate the pain that you’re are experiencing.”

Munoz’s family set up a GoFundMe page.

They say they are “in shock and finding it impossible to fathom the reality of her unexpected passing.”
