LOS ANGELES (KNX) – A former Los Angeles Police Department officer was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping a minor.
Diego Jose Miranda Lopez, a probationary officer who worked in the North Hollywood area, resigned after he was confronted with the allegations, according to officials.
“The alleged assault occurred prior to his employment with the Los Angeles Police Department,” the department said.
Miranda Lopez was booked at Valley Jail in Van Nuys and is being held without bail.
