Ekeler’s chances of playing in Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans are uncertain.

Questions about Ekeler’s status arose Wednesday when he wasn’t present at practice.

Hours before the announcement, the Chargers number one running back vaguely tweeted his appreciation for people who reached out to him along with a prayer hands emoji, suggesting something may have been wrong.

Ekeler’s potential absence for Sunday’s game could hurt the Chargers’ chances against the Texans, who are (1-6) at home.
