
An investigation was continuing Tuesday into the death of a man whose body was found in Compton Creek over the weekend.

Deputies were sent to Alameda Street and Artesia Boulevard about 1:15 p.m. Sunday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported.
"When Compton deputies arrived on scene, they discovered the victim unresponsive nearby in the Compton Creek," the sheriff's department said in a statement. "Homicide investigators responded and assumed control of the death investigation."
Information was not immediately available on the man's identity or cause of death.
