Actor and recent Jeopardy guest host LeVar Burton will serve as grand marshal for next year's Rose Parade in Pasadena.
Burton attended an event Tuesday morning where the annual televised parade made the announcement.

“I come from a family for whom the Tournament of Roses Parade and the Rose Bowl game to follow, has been a part of our family for years and years,” he said. “We are over the moon, beyond thrilled to be a part of this amazing event.”
Burton is known for his roles on “Star Trek” and the miniseries “Roots.” He helmed the PBS children's television show "Reading Rainbow" as executive producer and host.
This year's parade theme: "Dream. Believe. Achieve."
As grand marshal, Burton will kick off the 133rd Rose Parade and join in on pre-game celebrations at the Rose Bowl Game.
Organizers canceled in-person attendance for last year's Rose Parade because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2022 parade will begins at 8 a.m. on Jan. 1.
