The no-burn order is now in effect through 11:59 p.m. Saturday for all those in the South Coast Air Basin, cindluing non-desert portions of L.A., Riverside, and San Bernardino counties, and all of Orange County.

The order does not apply to mountain communities above 3,000 feet or the high desert. Homes that rely on wood as their sole source of heat and those without natural gas service are exempt.

It was the second consecutive day the order was extended.
