SANTA CLARITA (CNS) - One person was killed in a four-vehicle collision on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Santa Clarita, authorities said Friday.

The collision was reported at around 9:30 p.m. Thursday and officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene at Valencia Boulevard and the northbound freeway, near the Magic Mountain Parkway, the CHP said.

At least one of the vehicles, which included a trailer and a BMW, crashed into a utility pole that ended up blocking the Valencia Boulevard on ramp.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
