Pedestrian killed in crash on Harbor Freeway

A pedestrian was killed in a crash on the Harbor (110) Freeway near downtown Los Angeles, California Highway Patrol said Tuesday.

CHP officers responded at approximately 11:21p.m. Monday regarding a collision involving a pedestrian who was traveling in a car at the southbound freeway and West 23rd Street. When they arrived at the scene, the officers learned the victim either jumped from or fell from the vehicle and was struck by multiple vehicles, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.

The pedestrian, whose name, gender and age was not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CHP issued a Siglert closing all lanes of the southbound freeway for two hours while it investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.
