Fire officials in San Bernardino County are stepping up their efforts to get potentially dangerous fireworks out of peoples' homes.
Ontario recently saw the dangers of illegal fireworks when a home there exploded, killing two people and causing more than $3 million in damage to homes in the neighborhood.
Mike Horton, who is the San Bernardino County Fire Marshal, says on select days beginning April 10, people can drive up and surrender illegal or safe & sane fireworks - no questions asked.
Much like how police hold gun surrender programs - firefighters are doing the same - but with fireworks.
