Search warrants were served at the home of Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Alberto Carvalho, as well as LAUSD's headquarters in downtown L.A. on Wednesday.

An undisclosed third location related to Carvalho is being searched as well.

U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli's office confirmed the search to KNX News but did not elaborate further. His office told City News Service the actions by the agency were "judicially approved."

On X, LAUSD officials shared the following statement:

"We have been informed of law enforcement activity at Los Angeles Unified School District headquarters and at the home of the Superintendent. The District is cooperating with the investigation and we do not have further information at this time."

Carvalho has been superintendent of LAUSD since 2022. He was re-appointed to a second term that ends in 2030.
