The Los Angeles Police Department chased a suspect who allegedly stole a vehicle and led them on a pursuit in the Burbank area Friday.
The pursuit started just before 6 a.m. Friday and was terminated around 6:19 a.m. for the safety of the public, according to Officer Chavez.
The pursuit was on the Golden State (5) Freeway before continuing on surface streets around the Hollywood Burbank Airport area.
An LAPD helicopter assisted ground officers in the pursuit and was able to locate the suspect who allegedly switched cars and was riding in the back passenger seat of a car which was being driven by an unknown driver.
LAPD officers were able to take the suspect into custody in the Pacoima area after he got off the second vehicle and continued a pursuit by foot.
