Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast Division responded at 12:18 a.m. Friday to reports of a suspect in a light-colored truck driving under the influence at Normandie Avenue and Beverly Boulevard.

The officers began a pursuit that traversed Koreatown and ended at the Ambassador Towers on the 600 block of Irolo Street, near Wilshire Boulevard, LAPD Officer Kevin Terzes told City News Service.

A man and a woman abandoned the truck at the hotel at 12:25 a.m. and fled on foot, police said. Officers established a perimeter around the hotel and began a search for the suspects.

One suspect pulled a fire alarm inside the building, according to KTLA.

Video from the scene showed some of the building's residents standing in the hallways and milling about outside.

One suspect was taken into custody not long after the search began and the second was nabbed hours later with the assistance of a K-9 unit, according to the LAPD.
