Leslie David Baker is known for his role as Stanley Hudson in “The Office,” but now he’s taking on a new role as co-owner of a Honey Baked Ham store in Sherman Oaks.
Baker told KNX News’ Steve Gregory he opened a store because he was tired of waiting in line at other locations.
“The one in Toluca Lake closed over a decade ago, and I was talking to my business partner one day, complaining about the long lines over at another store, and he said, ‘Well, why don't you open up your own store?’” Baker recalled. “And I said, ‘Yes, why don't we?’”
Baker said his restaurant's the perfect spot for lunch, dinner, holidays, and catering.
“Brisket, barbecued ribs, we have pulled pork, we have turkey, we have chicken salad, we have ham salad,” he said. “We have our vanilla rum cake. We have a honey blueberry walnut cake. We have been known since 1957 for that, proprietary crackly glaze that everybody loves.”
But if you ask Baker for the glaze’s recipe, he can’t tell you.
“I've been sworn to secrecy under threat of death,” he said.
The store is located on 14427 Ventura Blvd.
