LOS ANGELES (KLUV) — Police in Los Angeles are still looking for a group of thieves who broke into a jewelry store causing $20,000 in damage.
The thing is, though surveillance video shows the thieves scooping up tons of rings and necklaces, they actually only were able to get their hands on costume jewelry, resulting in a total take of about $200!
The jewelry store owners told KTLA that's the exact reason stores often put fake jewelry in the front of the store. Most of what the thieves were able to make off with was basically "worthless."
Police are still looking for the group of men responsible, and are currently investigating "several" violent robberies in the area.
