Trump signed off on an order aiming to reduce the exorbitant cost of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments.

The order puts a priority on addressing policies that inflate IVF costs.

Currently, health insurance companies are not under any requirement to cover IVF treatments, often leaving couples on the hook for costs in the tens of thousands of dollars.

During his campaign to return to the Presidency, Trump promised that under his leadership, all IVF treatment costs would be paid for by either the government or private insurance companies.

A bill that sought to protect access to IVF treatments and make them more affordable was blocked by Trump’s own party, with only two Senate Republicans voting in favor of it.
