It might not be wise to rest your hopes on a TikTok video featuring a corgi, but that’s a reality for some Warriors fans these days.
After Monday’s 104-101 Lakers victory over Golden State in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals, the Warriors’ season – and perhaps dynasty – is on the verge of extinction.
Before the series started, a TikTok account called @aircorg shared a video of a corgi bouncing basketballs off its nose into baskets labeled for the Warriors and Lakers, in an effort to predict the series. So far, the corgi is 4-of-4 in its predictions, as the Lakers won Game 1, Game 3 and Game 4, while the Warriors won Game 2.
In the viral video, which has millions of views online since it was published before the series, the corgi predicts that the Warriors will pull off an epic 3-1 comeback and win the series in Game 7.
Back in 2016, the Warriors were on both sides of a 3-1 comeback, spurning the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals before letting the title of “best NBA team ever” slip out of its grasp in the Finals against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
There’s no margin for error now, but at least the corgi is giving the Dubs a shot to keep the dynasty alive.
