US News and World Report recently shared the results of a survey asking 1,200 American adults about their sleep, which relieved the group's worst sleep habits - you may relate.
Dr. Raj Dasgupta, the Chief Medical Advisor at Sleepopolis told KNX News, "Of course, everyone is an individual, and all our sleep is going to be very individualized. But I think one of the key things is that screen time, having that technology in bed... it still seems to be one of the most tempting things to do when you go to bed."
The report shared the group's other top bad habits:

If you manage to avoid your phone before bed, then you can focus on consistently getting what Dr. Dasgupta calls the two 'Qs' - good quantity and quality of sleep.
The exact number of hours varies based on many factors, including age and general health, he said, but the sweet spot is somewhere between 7-9 hours for healthy adults.
If you're getting adequate quantity and still feeling tired during the day, Dr. Dasgupta said the next piece to examine is quality.
"Quality sleep means, are you getting to the deeper stages of sleep? And are you getting that wonderful REM sleep to get those vivid dreams? You need to have both in order to really get that good, refreshing sleep," he said.
Dr. Dasgupta said long-term sleep deprivation affects every organ in the body, "It starts mentally; getting poor sleep affects your mood," and for some, it can cause a heart attack.
"Sleep is one of the pillars of good health. Right up there when you talk about diet and exercise," Dr. Dasgupta said. So, if you need to hear it again - when it's bedtime, get off your phone and go to sleep!
