Police are looking for a woman who they say fired a shot near the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Thursday.
Police told KNX News’ Pete Demetriou that at 3:06 p.m., a woman was arguing with a man on the street in front of the LACMA - La Brea Tar Pits area. At one point, the woman drew a weapon, fired a shot, and took off. Officers responded immediately.
Initially, police said a woman was taken into custody; however, they do not believe she is the suspect.
Officers described the suspect as a Black woman wearing a green sweater and black pants and carrying a gun.
Police are conducting a search in the alleyway behind a building in the 5800 block of Wilshire Boulevard.
No injuries have reported at this time.
Traffic in the area around Wilshire Blvd. and Curson Ave is being rerouted as the search continues.
This is a developing story.
