A WSU Baseball alum, Bruce Haertl is a 40+ year veteran of TV and Radio in the Wichita market. He started at KFH Radio in 1979, becoming Sports Director a year later. Over the next three years at KFH, he was also the Voice of the Wichita Wings.
In 1984, he moved to television becoming Sports Director at KWCH TV. In September of 2000, he helped launch Sports Daily, which he co-hosts to this day.
Haertl also embarked on a career in play by play from his 15 season run as the TV voice of Wichita State basketball and baseball to various sports for Sooner Sports Television at the University of Oklahoma, the Missouri Valley Conference, K-State Football Radio Network, the University of Arkansas, Oral Roberts University as well as basketball events for ESPN and Fox Sports.
Bruce is a member of the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame.
Jacob Albracht has been a part time host for Sports Daily for a number of years and is thrilled to take on the full-time co-hosting duties with Bruce. Along with radio, Jacob works in Wichita television every evening.
Jacob fills a variety of roles at KWCH. Serving as both the Sports Director, and a News Anchor for Eyewitness News on KWCH and the KSCW. He also oversees the largest and best high school sports coverage with Catch It Kansas. Jacob arrived in Wichita in 2014, after 7 years in his hometown of Amarillo, TX at KFDA-TV.
Jacob has covered a multitude of big stories while at KWCH including a Chiefs Super Bowl championship, two Royals World Series runs, multiple NCAA tournaments, Bowl games, and a wide range of news stories affecting Kansans. He is proud to work with a team of journalists who are multi-talented and willing to cover both news and sports.
Jacob and his wife moved to Wichita in the summer of 2014 with their dog (Jaxie) and cat (Rilla). And since then, they've added three kids to the mix! Jacob is proud to call Wichita home now. If you see him out and about, don't hesitate to say hi and spark up a good sports debate!
