Things might have gone sideways for the Dallas Cowboys over the weekend, but Week 15 was capped off on a high note for Jerry Jones.

Dallas got pushed around in a 31-10 loss to the Bills on Sunday as their struggles on the road against quality opponents persisted. That dropped the Cowboys to 10-4, giving the Eagles a prime opportunity to gain a game in the standings.

Instead, Philly melted down on the final drive Monday night, with a Drew Lock 29-yard touchdown pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba giving Seattle a 20-17 win. The loss, the Eagles’ third straight, also put them at 10-4, which for now gives Dallas the NFC East lead.

Knowing that the result could have serious playoff implications for Dallas, the Cowboys owner and GM took great pleasure in the Eagles’ collapse.

“It was marvelous. I watched every bit of it,” Jones said. “I thought I was about to doze, and then when (the Seahawks) made those two exciting plays at the end I couldn’t sleep until 4 this morning because of the impact that it can have on our year and our season.”

Dallas currently holds the division lead, but if both teams win out the Eagles will claim the division by virtue of strength of schedule. The Cowboys finish their season with games against the Dolphins, Lions and Commanders, while the Eagles will face the Giants and Cardinals before taking on New York again in Week 18.
