JR: Warriors have 'too much offense' to lose NBA Finals to Celtics

The new-look Golden State Warriors, which finished the 2019-20 campaign as cellar dwellers with a league-worst 15-50 record, are once again representing the Western Conference in the NBA Finals. After two dormant years, besieged by injuries to key contributors, they've rejuvenated a dynasty with a key blend of veteran superstars and impact role-players.

Led by the homegrown trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green -- which has captured three championships since 2015 -- Golden State will soon battle the young and resilient Boston Celtics with an NBA title up for grabs. According to FiveThirtyEight projections, the Celtics currently have an 80-percent chance to win their first Larry O'Brien trophy since 2008, and 18th as an organization. But JR isn't willing to give Boston the series edge.

"I said it last week. I've been saying it for a few weeks and I've been saying it since the Suns left the playoffs. I've got the Warriors winning the NBA Finals," JR said during Tuesday's edition of the JR SportBrief show. "And I know what the Celtics are, I know what they can do. I watched the games like everybody else, and I want to see everybody healthy... But, I just think the Warriors have too much offense. That's it. They're capable of heating up a little bit easier.

"We've watched these Celtics have to go to Game 7 and then another Game 7. They haven't faced a team that can light it up, with multiple options, like these Warriors. And this is a prime opportunity for Steph Curry, who won the All-Star MVP and just won the West Finals MVP... This can be a crowning achievement for Curry... And it's really simple, folks. I see too many options on the Warriors that can get hot... Tatum and Brown will have to play out of their minds."
