The Kansas men's basketball team is no longer active at the Big 12 Conference tournament in Kansas City, MO. According to a report from CBS Sports' Matt Norlander, a Jayhawks player has tested positive for COVID-19, and the team has been removed from the conference tournament.

On Friday afternoon, Norlander reported that Kansas was pulling out of the Big 12 Tournament after one of its players tested positive for the virus. He also said the player who tested positive did play in KU's win over Oklahoma in the quarterfinals on Thursday night. At this time, it is not known how this will affect the Jayhawks' ability to participate in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

"It remains to-be-determined whether or not this will impact Kansas’ availability and eligibility for the NCAA Tournament, sources tell @CBSSports," Norlander added.

The game between the Longhorns and the Jayhawks was scheduled to tip off at 8:30 p.m. Friday. With the Jayhawks unable to play, Texas advances to the Big 12 Championship to face the winner of Baylor vs. Oklahoma State.
