
Former Kansas State men's basketball star Wes Iwundu got his first start on Wednesday for the Dallas Mavericks, in a 104-93 win at Charlotte over the Hornets. Because of a thin roster, Iwundu got the start at forward, tallying four points and three rebounds.

*The Friends University women pulled off an upset in Wichita, defeating Bethany 55-45. Bethany has been receiving votes in the national poll, as Friends now has back-to-back wins.
*The Brooklyn Nets won on the road, defeating their cross-city rival the New York Knicks 116-109. Former Wichita State Shocker Landry Shamet made three 3-pointers and had 13 points and five assists off the bench for the Nets, who have two straight wins.
*Another win for the top team in the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers (10-3), who won 128-99 at Oklahoma City. Coming off the bench as the '6th man' for the Lakers was former Kansas Jayhawk Markieff Morris, who had 11 points and seven rebounds. The Lakers are now 7-0 on the road this season, and have a four-game winning streak overall.
*The Los Angeles Clippers won at home, defeating the New Orleans Pelicans 111-106. Coming off the bench as the '6th man' for the Clippers was former Kansas basketball star Marcus Morris, who finished with eight points and three rebounds. The Clippers, the #2 team in the Western Conference, have back-to-back wins.
