The Mavericks set the NBA record for the largest halftime lead in NBA history on Sunday, and this unbelievable performance obviously led to a ton of social media-worthy highlights. The Mavs even acknowledged this themselves.
300 is a lot, and though they could have done that, the social media team chose not to. In the process, they missed one of the most fascinating plays of all. It wasn't fascinating because it required a particularly high level of skill. It wasn't anything historic. There weren't any obscure statistics that came as a result of it.
It was fascinating because, like all other things involving Boban Marjanovic, you got to witness the pure size of a beloved, 7-foot-4 beast at his best. Because the Mavericks account chose not to post it, the rest of NBA Twitter made sure to give Boban his well-deserved recognition.
The G.O.A.T. discussion may be revolving around Michael Jordan and LeBron James, but I never watched either of them throw down a one-handed jam without leaving the ground... did you? Didn't think so.
Bobi doesn't play much, but his presence is felt on and off the floor. He became one of the most popular personalities in the Orlando bubble earlier this year, and plays like these are sure to keep him atop the list of the league's favorite figures.
Next time the Boston Celtics get a 50-point lead at halftime, we'll look for Tacko Fall to do the same.
