LISTEN: Royals C.O.O on team's new improvements to Kauffman and plans for the future

There have been a growing number of rumors about the future of Kansas City's stadiums in recent weeks, with some speculation that one (or both) are currently looking to move elsewhere. It was a topic of conversation that came up this morning when Royals Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Brooks Sherman joined 610's Fescoe In The Morning. After answering several questions about current improvements to Kauffman Stadium that fans can expect in 2022, he spoke on how the team views developing a potential new stadium.

"We're really studying a lot of different things, making visits to other stadiums just to see how others are doing, but we also have to operate in the here-and-now," he said. "I can't wait tomorrow to see Salvy continue on the track that he was on last year, and now he's starting Opening Day catching Greinke. I mean, I can't wait for that. So, I think in the here-and-now, we've made these improvements to Kauffman to make this fan experience the best it can be on top of having a great team on the field. Not to mention Bobby Witt Jr. now on the Opening Day roster. So we're excited for the here-and-now, but we certainly have an eye on the future as well."
