It was a super Sunday for the Wichita Thunder, the Wichita Wind Surge, the Wichita Wizards, and Butler community college women's soccer.

*The first-place Wichita Thunder hockey team defeated the second-place Fort Wayne Komets 3-1 Sunday on the road. Goalie Evan Buitenhuis had 23 saves, notching his 15th win of the season. It was the Thunder's 40th win of the season, the first team in the ECHL to reach the 40-win plateau this season; this is Wichita's first 40-win season in nine years. That makes back-to-back wins for Wichita, which has already clinched a playoff berth.

*In minor league baseball, the Wichita Wind Surge finished a week in Tulsa with a 3-0 win Sunday afternoon over the Drillers. Wichita's starting pitcher, Austin Schulfer, took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. It was the fourth shutout this season for the Wichita pitching staff, as the Wind Surge leads the league in shutouts. Wichita improves to 11-7 on the year, and has the best road record in the league at 8-4. After back-to-back wins, the Surge split six games in Tulsa, and Wichita is in second place, a half-game in back of first-place Arkansas. As always, Monday is an off day for the Wind Surge.

*In professional men's basketball, the first-place Wichita Wizards won at home on Sunday afternoon, defeating Program Select Missouri 132-118 at Friends University. The Wizards are now 6-1 on the season.

*The Butler community college women's soccer team has advanced to the national juco tournament next month; the Grizzlies won the district championship game Sunday 3-1 over Barton at the Stryker Complex in Wichita.
